The elimination of these home owner tax deductions keep coming up by our legislators. Why, because they could provide the government with a lot of revenue. Open up this link, published by the National Association of Realtors (NAR), it provides some very detailed analysis how the elimination of both mortgage interest and real estate property tax deductions could have a negative affect on a home owner’s property values for one year. The NAR does not support any type of elimination of either tax deduction.
