2253 Autumn Village for Sale

2253 Autumn Village for Sale

The best part of my job is reporting good news about our local housing market is improving. The attached link from the Columbus Board Realtors reflects just that. We saw a 20% growth this year compared to last year, we also see our home prices increase too. It’s a great time to buy a home with our local housing still very affordable, we have job growth and interest rates remain below 5%, by all indication interest rates should stay at this level for at least another three months.

The New Albany 2010 Parade of Homes

Today I attend the New Albany 2010 Parade of Homes. All homes offered large eat in kitchen with family rooms connected and lots of out door living space. But what I noticed was over half the homes had 10 foot ceilings in the family and kitchen areas (not 2 story) and they were using wide plank dark textured wood floors on the first level, second level had some wood floors but most rooms and halls had textured carpeting. Cabinet fixtures, and fireplaces where my focal point as you can see in my photos. Over 3/4 of the homes had gas fire places, (wood burning are very expensive) and some had great finishes. I think the Parade of Homes is always a great place to see what is new and to get some great ideas on finishes, cabinets, floors, and furniture.
The New Albany Parade of Homes if worth visiting. It took me about an hour and half to go through, but I think most people would take at least 2 hours. The homes where easy walking distance from each other, price range $750,000 to over $1 million, three of The Parade of Homes have been sold. It cost $12.00 to get in $2.00 for parking, dates July 24 to August 8, open Monday thru Thursday noon to 9 pm, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10 am to 6 pm. Location is Village Hall Rd. Women Saftey Tips Subject: Message from State Police

On the way to Canton , driving on Michigan Avenue , on Thursday morning, I saw an infant car seat on the side of the road with a blanket draped over it. I did not stop, even though I had all kinds of thoughts running through my head. But when I got to my destination, I called the Canton PD and they were going to check it out. This is what I was told…

“Several things to be aware of .. gangs and thieves, are now plotting different ways to get a person to “stop” their vehicle. “There is a gang initiation reported by the local police department that gangs are placing a car seat by the road…with a fake baby in it…waiting for a woman, of course, to stop and check on the baby. Note that the location of this car seat will usually be beside a wooded or grassy (field) area …and the person – woman – will be dragged into the woods- beaten and raped- usually left for dead. DO NOT STOP.
DIAL 9-1-1 AND REPORT WHAT YOU SAW.

“IF YOU ARE DRIVING AT NIGHT AND EGGS ARE THROWN AT YOUR WINDSHIELD. DO NOT OPERATE THE WIPER AND DO NOT SPRAY ANY WATER BECAUSE EGGS
MIXED WITH WATER BECOME MILKY AND BLOCK YOUR VISION UP TO 92.5% YOU ARE THEN FORCED TO STOP BESIDE THE ROAD AND BECOME A VICTIM OF THIEVES. THIS IS A NEW TECHNIQUE USED BY GANGS.

PLEASE INFORM YOUR FRIENDS AND RELATIVES. THESE ARE DESPERATE TIMES AND THESE UNSAVORY INDIVIDUALS WILL TAKE DESPERATE MEASURES TO GET WHAT THEY WANT.”

Please talk to your loved ones about this. This is a new tactic used and I would hate for anyone to fall victim to this kind of crime.

Please be safe

Our Local Housing Market Is Improving- May closings maintain frenzied pace.

It’s a great time to buy a home in Central Ohio, why? Interest rates are below 5% and ………..

Central Ohio home closings in May significantly outpaced the previous month as well as the previous year. The number of home sales last month (2,401) were up 15 percent over April of this year and were 32.7 percent higher than homes closed in May of 2009.

Home sales this year (January through May) now exceed 2009 by 24 percent.

“Although many believed that home sales activity would slow after the April 30 deadline for the home buyer tax credits,” said Sue Lusk-Gleich, President of the Columbus Board of REALTORS®. “However, home sales didn’t just keep pace but far exceeded the previous few months. That speaks volumes for the level of interest and confidence home buyers have in our central Ohio housing market.”

The average sale price of $166,156 in May dipped slightly from the previous year but was up almost five percent over the previous month. The average sale price for the first five months of the year stands at $156,452, fully five percent over the $148,956 average sale price for the first five months of 2009.

There were 3,366 homes added to the market in May bringing the inventory to 15,282 homes for sale – almost three percent more homes than were listed for sale at the same time last year.

According to Lusk-Gleich, “With the wide selection of homes on the market, competitive prices and low interest rates, we’re looking forward to a busy housing market this summer.”

The Columbus Board of REALTORS® Multiple Listing Service (MLS) serves all of Franklin, Delaware, Fayette, Madison, Morrow, Pickaway and Union Counties and parts of Champagne, Clark, Hocking, Licking, Fairfield, Knox, Logan, Marion, and Ross Counties.
